HILLVIEW — Jennifer and Charlie Meador were looking for a distinct business name that would stand out.
“We own chickens,” Charlie said. “One day one of them was broody and charged me. That’s where the idea came from.”
Angry Chicken Outdoors is open for business at 3886 E. Blue Lick Road, featuring guns, firearms and gunsmithing, along with Cerakote protective ceramic coatings.
“We’re the only shop in the county that features that,” Charlie said.
Angry Chicken Outdoors also features ammunition and parts, knives and tools, gear and apparel, and flamethrowers.
The store also features limited archery supplies, while Charlie mentioned fishing gear would soon be added, including live bait.
The couple originally began with a home-based company, but decided to seek a business location to expand services.
Customers may also run into an actual angry chicken or two in the shop’s lobby.
Angry Chicken Outdoors is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 4:30 pm. For more information call (502) 955-8997 or visit angrychickenoutdoors.com.
