HILLVIEW — Hoping to enjoy some more free time each day, Nicki J moved her Slay just a few doors away.
Slay By Nicki J celebrated the grand opening of its new location, though the business remains located within the Hillview Springs Shopping Center. Co-owners Nicki and Derik Potter first opened nine years ago in a larger location within the center.
“We wanted to downsize,” said Nicki. “I just wanted to simplify my life, and to have more time to focus on our ministry.”
The couple is involved with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located in Shepherdsville. They have three children, Teyanna, Qai Phoenix, and Dakarai.
Slay By Nicki J is an aesthetics salon, featuring services such as skin care, eye lashes and eyebrows. The company also features a makeup artist and has a nurse practitioner on staff to provide injections such as B-12 shots.
Along with Nicki, the Slay staff includes makeup artist ShaMora Boone, nurse practitioner Christy Elliott-Cox, aesthetician Jeni Davis, and Jaymie Daniels specializing in eye lashes. Nicki works on eyebrows, and her mother, Debbie Jeter, helps at the front desk.
The store’s newest addition is Permalinx By Slay By Nicki J, featuring an array of permanent jewelry. Bracelets, anklets and necklaces are offered, with prices starting at $35.
The new Slay By Nicki J is located at 6434 N.Preston Highway, Suite 2. For more information visit slaybynickij.com.
